In the category of Mergers and Acquisitions, TRC earned a silver medal for its execution of a highly successful acquisition program to support the Company–s growth strategy. The 2011 acquisition of three firms — Alexander Utility Engineering (AUE), the Environmental Business Unit of RMT, and the Payne Firm — added depth and capability to TRC–s service portfolio, expanded reach into new markets, and strengthened the Company–s presence in key geographical areas.
TRC was also honored in the category of Project Merit for providing environmental and engineering consulting support to the city of Haverhill, Massachusetts, in its effort to transform an abandoned, contaminated former automobile repair and refueling site into a 127,000 square foot parking garage with a pedestrian walkway that connects downtown with many transportation hubs. TRC worked closely with the city to manage all environmental and engineering aspects for the garage, from site investigation to remedial design and implementation through to construction.
For 14 years the Environmental Business Journal has recognized outstanding business performance in the environmental industry with the Business Achievement Awards. Winners are divided by size and segment, M&A awards, new practice areas and international expansion. Outstanding projects and new technology development or applications are awarded Project Merit Awards or Technology Merit Awards. The awards will be given in an official ceremony in March.
