SEATTLE, WASHINGTON — (Marketwire) — 02/14/12 — ecoTECH Energy Group, Inc. (OTCBB: ECTH), headquartered in Seattle, WA, is pleased to announce that it has begun to clear its McBride, British Columbia Lamming Mills site in preparation for the development of the Aquaponics and Combined Heat and Power complex that is scheduled to commence in Spring 2012. ecoTECH has signed a contract with a local professional logging operation to selectively cut enough trees to allow room for the development, whilst retaining as many trees as possible on the site.
In addition, ecoTECH has also received its Timber Mark Certificate from the Canadian Ministry of Forests and Range. The selected ecoTECH contractor will be starting the active logging of merchantable timber on the property by the end of February in preparation for the next phase of site preparation. Once the logging phase has been completed, the balance of small trees and scrub will be cleared, stockpiled and utilized later as the first biomass fuel for the 5 Megawatt Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant to be built on site. The CHP will provide the heat and electricity for the Aquaponics facility scheduled for a construction start this coming spring.
ecoTECH–s biomass CHP system is carbon neutral in its own right. However, the use of carbon dioxide gleaned from the ecoPHASER exhaust to augment the transpiration effect of the 8 hectares of oxygen emitting plants tips the ecological balance of the project into a carbon negative output. The products from the Aquaponics system are “beyond organic” fresh foods and the Company has already received a large purchase order per its press release of January 5, 2012.
