Canadians Revolutionize Halloween By Sharing Stories and Playing Dress-Up

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA — (Marketwire) — 04/19/12 — Editor–s Note: There are two photos associated with this release.

Two national initiatives set to revolutionize how Canadians celebrate Halloween are turning kids and families from Halifax to Victoria a healthier shade of green.

B.C.–s Our Big Earth Media Co. in collaboration with businesses and organizations across the country is bringing Books For Treats and National Costume Swap Day to Canada this fall. Both online and on the street in our communities they will bring people together to lend a hand in caring for the planet and champion children–s imaginations.

These initiatives, which will roll out as sister projects, have an enthusiastic following in the U.S. Now, Our Big Earth sets the stage for Canada as they blossom into a movement of storytelling and creativity in which corporate citizenship, organizational advocacy and community engagement bring kids, families and neighbours together in celebration of Canadiana.

“These projects are adaptive, charming, engaging and fun,” said Robin Rivers, OBE–s Sr. Partner and national project lead. “The opportunity to bring them to Canada and foster a youth culture around reading, reusing and creativity means the opportunity to help build stronger, healthier kids and families.”

Rivers and her team of entertainment, publishing and marketing industry professionals from across Canada combine their collective skills, passion for literacy, arts and children–s health to produce these events that have been licensed to Our Big Earth Media Co.
