Nanosolar Achieves ISO 9001:2008 Certification for German Manufacturing Facility

SAN JOSE, CA — (Marketwire) — 05/02/12 — Nanosolar GmbH today announced that its fully automated panel assembly factory in Luckenwalde, Germany, has received ISO 9001:2008 certification from TÜV Süd Germany, the German Technical Control Board.

This certification covers all aspects of the manufacturing and testing of Nanosolar thin-film solar panels. In addition, it verifies that Nanosolar demonstrated its ability to provide solar panels that meet its customers– needs, as well as applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and that the company is continually enhancing customer satisfaction through improvements in its processes and assurance of conformity.

The Luckenwalde panel factory opened in 2008, and employs 98 individuals. The fully automated factory is run by only six operators per shift. By the end of 2011, the factory achieved a yearly readiness of a 115 MW run rate and had produced and shipped 100,000 thin film solar modules.
