First Utility and Opower Launch Ground-Breaking UK Energy Saving Service

my:energy is the result of a partnership between First Utility, the UK–s largest independent , and Opower, the global leader in energy information software for the utility industry. It is believed the service could potentially save UK households up to GBP 1.7 billion and 3 million tonnes of carbon over the next three years(i).

First Utility–s 100,000 gas and electricity customers now receive secure online information detailing how their usage compares to similar, like-for-like homes(ii), together with personalised tips on how to reduce their energy consumption. Over the coming months, further functionality will be added, including an unusual usage alert, allowing customers to receive emails and SMS messages to warn them when their energy usage is higher than normal.
