TAMPA, FL — (Marketwire) — 09/19/12 — Seafarer Exploration Corp. (OTCBB: SFRX), a company focused on the archaeologically-sensitive exploration and recovery of historic shipwrecks with an emphasis on recovering treasure and understanding historical events surrounding shipwrecks, announced today that the company–s salvage vessel, Iron Maiden, has returned to the salvage site off Juno Beach, Florida after major repairs, maintenance and improvements.
The Iron Maiden, a wholly owned asset of Seafarer Exploration, completed major and important renovations that will facilitate the company–s salvage capabilities. The renovation was extensive and a special thanks goes to Capt. Troy and his crew who worked hard for the past several months. Capt. Troy commented, “Some of the most difficult and time consuming work was replacing the rusted hull plates. We installed new Turbo chargers which will significantly increase our engines– RPM allowing us to dig faster and deeper. We also increased our propeller size to move more water through our deflectors to dig deeper with more efficiency. We replaced the shafts to handle the heavier work load of increased RPM and larger propellers. We also installed a new 25 KW generator to allow us the ability to stay at sea for an extended period of time if necessary.”
Capt. Troy continued, “In addition we replaced the fuel injectors, rebuilt the coolant system, replaced worn electronics, replaced hoses, fabricated and replaced the exhaust system (including asbestos-free heat wraps), gutted and painted the cabins and work areas, and sand blasted the hull and painted multiple epoxy layers and painted a new red top coat. In essence the Iron Maiden is almost new again. We will now be able to more accurately and efficiently maintain the Vessel and reach our targets. I want to personally thank my crew of Alexander (Sasha), Aaron, Michael, Zack, Matthew, and Corey for their hard work, as well as a personal thanks and deep gratitude to Kyle Kennedy and the generous shareholders for making this possible.”
