FOLSOM, CA — (Marketwire) — 09/20/12 — Sparta Consulting, a KPIT Cummins company, today announced the launch of its utilities-focused Customer Online Solution (COS), part of the Sparta Utilities North America Solution (SUNAS) business technology suite. COS was developed to complement the world-class applications offered by SAP AG as part of the SAP® for Utilities solution portfolio. COS 1.0 has been certified by SAP as powered by the SAP NetWeaver® technology platform.
A fully customizable presentation and branding tier, COS is delivered as a native website component for utility companies, deployed in a Sparta-hosted cloud or client data center environment. It was architected to deliver a comprehensive set of –customer portal 2.0– features out-of-the-box, including personalized content delivery, profile and account management, service order management, online bill presentment and bill payment, consumption usage reporting, mobile connectivity and social media interaction.
Pre-configured integrations with a growing list of industry-leading third-party solution providers, including demand-side management and analytics applications, are provided to help utilities quickly extend COS to increase operational efficiency, optimize customer satisfaction and lower service costs.
“Utilities are seeking to offer customers a more personalized point of access to information in an intuitive, Web 2.0-like experience to optimize customer interaction and increase efficiency,” said Aasim Hasan, EVP for Sparta Consulting. “A robust customer portal is oftentimes the missing component necessary to fully realize customer-facing business objectives. COS delivers on these needs and more, in the most rapid and cost-effective manner possible. It delivers the personalized, self-service experience demanded by today–s utility customers,” added Hasan.
COS is built on industry-leading Web technology standards. The SAP Integration and Certification Center (SAP ICC) has certified that COS 1.0 can be successfully deployed on the J2EE-based engine of the SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment (SAP NetWeaver CE) 7.3 via the JAVA-EE-NW 7.3 deployment certification. This, coupled with pre-tested integration paths with the SAP ERP and SAP Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM) applications, offers utilities highly rapid deployment while leveraging the official database of record, thereby helping to eliminate database redundancy.
