Zero Emission Energy Developments, Inc. Signs Impact Benefit Agreement with McLeod Lake Indian Band

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA — (Marketwired) — 06/24/13 — Zero Emission Energy Developments (ZED) and McLeod Lake Indian Band (MLIB) today announced that they have signed an Impact Benefit Agreement (IBA).

This wind power IBA supports ZED–s development of the 15 megawatt Septimus Creek Wind Power Project within MLIB traditional territory. The project is scheduled for operation in 2014.

“We–re very excited about working with McLeod Lake Indian Band to produce clean, emission-free, renewable energy for British Columbians,” said ZED President and Chief Executive Officer Alastair King. “Our project will provide significant economic and social benefits to this First Nation community, as well as to the Province as a whole.”

Chief Derek Orr stated “We support the generation of clean, sustainable energy within our territory where the energy can be generated with minimal effect on the environment, and our treaty rights. This project will have very low environmental impact and may be a model for other energy developments. We look forward to working with ZED as they construct their project.”

ZED has been working to develop strong relationships with MLIB since 2008. This IBA, signed June 13, 2013, marks another step forward for ZED–s wind power projects. ZED recently also entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with REpower Systems for the supply of wind turbines for ZED–s five wind power projects across B.C.
