Freystadt, Oberpfalz – Faster, better, and smart: soon innovative multi-stage lamination technique with cooling technology is to complement the product range of J.v.G. Thoma GmbH. The procedure is significant for installations above 100 MW capacity, and of special interest for Glass/ Glass modules and so-called hybrid modules. But even enterprises engaged in the HPTP sector (Desert modules) can benefit from it.
It took full three years to develop the multi-stage lamination technology with integrated cool press an desert process. Over this period three laminators with patented induction heating were built by Komax Solar. Now, J.v.G. will acquire the complete technology from Komax and work on them until they are ready to be marketed and ready for desert process. With this, the Bavaria-based family enterprise will own another key technology in the manufacture of solar modules. In future, it will be in a position to deliver various stages along the production chain from a single source: Stringers (120 micron soldering), LED Flashers and multi level Lamination.
First hot, then cool, and the same three times – a look into the lamination process
The equipment is provided with a lifter which ele- vates the modules in the loading area on to the available free level and moves in. The laminati- on is done with an induction heating system. The cooling press is attached separately, so that the capacity is not hampered; and in it the modules are specifically cooled to 60 – 80 °C, to prevent bubbles forming on the sides of the modules. Currently, the first laminator is installed in the manufacturing unit of Jurawatt Vertriebs GmbH – where it will be tested for series production.
Why investing in the new method will be worthwhile
Within a manufacturing period three times as many modules are produced, at much higher quality than until now. This is faster and has less rejects, triple the output: those who care about the pennies and know how fast this new technology can pay off.
