U.S. Patent Office Allows NovoFuel Hydrogen Generation Patent

PHILADELPHIA, PA — (Marketwired) — 10/29/14 — NovoFuel, Inc. (“NovoFuel”), a wholly-owned operating subsidiary of AlumiFuel Power Corporation (PINKSHEETS: AFPW), announced today that it has been notified by the U.S. Patent and Trademark office (USPTO) that the provisional patent on its hydrogen generation technology has been allowed, and will be issued as a U.S. patent within several months following receipt of the necessary fees. At that time, the USPTO will assign a number to the new patent.

The omnibus provisional patent application, “METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLED PRODUCTION OF HYDROGEN USING ALUMINUM-BASED WATER-SPLIT REACTIONS,” was filed in 2009, and went through a comprehensive review by the USPTO. The approved patent embodies 48 specific claims which are applications-oriented, focusing on the practical aspects of controlling the aluminum powder-water reaction in NovoFuel–s cartridge-based hydrogen generation system used in such applications as feeding fuel cells for backup power and filling weather balloons.

“We are gratified that our unique renewable hydrogen generation technology will soon be embodied in an issued U.S. patent,” said Mr. David Cade, President and CEO of NovoFuel, Inc. “This official recognition complements our recent initiatives in hybrid Renewable Energy System (RES) solutions for various applications, including hydroponic crop growing and medical cannabis cultivation.” (See AFPW news release of October 16, 2014)
