CALGARY, ALBERTA — (Marketwire) — 09/13/11 — Ridgeline Energy Services Inc. (“Ridgeline”) (TSX VENTURE: RLE) today announced it has signed a Development Agreement with Lakeland Processing Company (Lakeland), a California based wastewater disposal company, to deploy Ridgeline–s proprietary electro-catalytic process to treat multiple types of wastewater.
Lakeland has a treatment facility that accepts and processes non-hazardous liquid waste from a broad spectrum of petrochemical, contracting, marine and commercial operations. Currently Lakeland maintains one of the largest discharge permits among service providers supporting the Los Angeles County industrial Sanitation District. Lakeland also maintains one of the largest water storage capacities among wastewater treatment companies in the Los Angeles basin.
Using Ridgeline–s proprietary technology, Lakeland–s fully permitted centralized treatment facility will be able to process all non-hazardous liquid wastes on-site. The resulting treated water will comply with local regulatory agencies discharge limits and resulting solids will be disposed of in an appropriate off-site land fill. In order to apply its water treatment technology at the Lakeland facility, Ridgeline has installed one of its Mobile Development Laboratories (MDL) on site. This mobile facility will not only allow Ridgeline to continuously test and treat multiple water types; it can be used as an easily accessible site to demonstrate the company–s technology to potential clients.
Tony Ker, CEO of Ridgeline, commented, “We are excited to proceed with this venture as it is an opportunity to showcase our new proprietary water treatment technology across a broad spectrum of waste water types. Ridgeline–s initial commercial focus will be on the treatment and management of produced and flowback water from the oil and gas hydraulic fracturing market. In addition, it will enable us to demonstrate the ability to recover and convert fats, oils and grease (FOG) into clean renewable fuel-suitable for making electricity with diesel powered generation plants. We see additional potential in the treatment of oil sands tailings ponds and waste from Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) operations. We look forward to demonstrating our capabilities and value proposition at this site, since there are over one hundred similar facilities in California alone that would benefit from the application of our technology.”
The Energy technology will be available to Ridgeline for full commercial application on the closing of the recently announced (20th April 2011) Purchase Acquisition.
