Tidewater Utilities, Inc. Charity Tournament Raises Funds to Benefit Can-Do Playground at Milford, DE

DOVER, DE — (Marketwire) — 10/17/11 — Tidewater Utilities, Inc. recently presented a check to the Can-Do Playground for $14,500.00, the result of proceeds raised during its 4th Annual Golf Tournament held August 15th at the Heritage Shores Golf Course in Bridgeville, DE. The Can-Do Playground, slated to be built in Milford, DE, will be designed for use by children of all abilities, but with special consideration for children with sensory, developmental or physical disabilities. The overall goal of the playground is to provide an integrated play area where those who are enabled and those with disabilities can play together in a barrier free and socially inviting setting.

Sponsors for the tournament included David G. Horsey & Sons, IG Burton Chrysler, Dodge & Jeep and support sponsor Sensus Metering. The Can-Do Playground is a joint project of six Rotary clubs from the Kent and Sussex County areas.

“Tidewater–s support for this project demonstrates the company–s ongoing commitment to the local community and will help bring to life a true asset for Kent and Sussex Counties,” said David Rutt, Chairman of the Can-Do Playground at Milford.

“Building a strong future means investing wisely in our children. The Can-Do Playground at Milford will promote health and wellness and allow children of all abilities to learn, grow and explore. We thank all who supported the outing,” said Jerry Esposito, President, Tidewater Utilities, Inc.
