LANCASTER, NY — (Marketwire) — 10/18/11 — (E & E) (NASDAQ: EEI) has been awarded a $21.5 million, unrestricted, indefinite delivery contract with the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Kansas City District to provide architect-engineer services for hazardous, toxic, and radioactive waste programs within EPA Region 2 and the USACE Northwestern Division.
Under the recently awarded contract, E & E will provide a wide range of environmental and engineering services to support military and civil cleanup projects located primarily within EPA Region 2 (New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands) and the USACE Northwestern Division (including Kansas City, Omaha, and Seattle Districts) for hazardous waste, including radiological and mixed waste, at federal Superfund sites and Department of Defense facilities. The program scope of work includes preliminary assessments/site inspections, subsurface exploration, chemical sampling and analysis, groundwater modeling, hazard evaluation and fate and transport analysis, remedial investigations/feasibility studies, archaeological investigation/mitigation, wetland determination/mitigation, remedial design, preparation of engineering plans/specifications, cost estimation, construction management, and community involvement.
