Energy Systems Group Awarded $34.6 Million Contract for Professional Design/Construction Consultant Services at Michigan Department of Corrections Ionia Complex

IONIA, MI — (Marketwired) — 10/22/14 — Energy Systems Group (ESG), a leading energy services provider and wholly owned subsidiary of Vectren Corporation (NYSE: VVC), has signed a $34.6 million contract for Professional Design/Construction Consultant Services with the State of Michigan, Department of Technology, Management and Budget for the implementation of comprehensive energy conservation measures and infrastructure improvements at the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) Ionia Complex.

Energy Systems Group will implement energy efficiency and facility upgrades with guaranteed energy savings, based on detailed technical energy audits of four MDOC facilities and one central power plant within the Ionia Complex, including the Richard A. Handlon Correctional Facility, Ionia Correctional Facility, Bellamy Creek Correctional Facility, Michigan Reformatory, and the Southern Region (Ionia Hub) Central Power Plant.

This contract marks ESG–s second project for the Michigan Department of Corrections. In 2012, ESG completed a $12.9 million project that included energy infrastructure improvements, lighting retrofits, heating and cooling system upgrades, and water conservation measures at the Parnall Correctional Facility in Jackson.
