Starting in 2011, The Department of Energy (DOE) issued new energy-efficient lighting standards for both florescent and incandescent light bulbs aimed to reduce energy usage and establish more energy-efficient households across America. January 2014 marks the final phase out and includes 40-Watt and 60-Watt incandescent light bulbs, which are most commonly used as decorative light bulbs in sconces and chandeliers.
With various new lighting options available, Ace will provide the advice and guidance needed to help homeowners purchase the best lighting options to fit their needs. Making the transition to energy-efficient light bulbs such as light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and compact florescent light bulbs (CFLs) can help save homeowners both time and money. According to Energy Star, use about 75% less energy than incandescent bulbs and last up to 10 times longer while also use 75% less energy and last up 15 times longer than incandescent bulbs.
