Advances in Production of Synthetic Diamonds Spawns Development of Low-Cost Screening Device

LAS VEGAS, NV — (Marketwire) — 07/24/12 — (OTCBB: CTDTE) (OTCQB: CTDTE) (PINKSHEETS: CTDTE) reports that a Hong Kong-based firm has developed a low-cost and highly accurate device for screening and separation of synthetic diamonds from nature. The device, a pen-shaped pointer called the DiamaPen, will be introduced at the Hong Kong Gem and Jewelry Fair. This news further illustrates that synthetic diamonds are virtually indistinguishable from diamonds produced in nature.

Diamond traders are having a very difficult time distinguishing synthetic diamonds, both HPHT- and CVD-grown diamonds, from their natural counterparts. The development of this screening device further illustrates the quality of synthetic diamonds in the market.

Recently, The World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) called for a meeting on the issue of “undisclosed synthetic diamonds.” The meeting, held in Las Vegas, included leading parties of the International Diamond Manufacturers Association (IDMA), the Diamond Trading Company (DTC) and leading diamond certification laboratories. It was decided that all would join efforts to preserve the transparency of the diamond trade for the benefit of the global business to ensure that consumers can receive full disclosure about the diamonds they purchase. Quality synthetic diamonds are making their way into the market on a daily basis. The diamond industry is working hard to put consumers– minds at ease so they know exactly what they are purchasing. The man-made diamond gemstone industry is still very much in its infancy, with only a handful of companies producing them and turning out relatively small numbers of stones. But unlike cubic zirconia, which is a chemically different substance, laboratory gems are considered real diamonds. Centaurus will work with the WFDB to fully disclose the origin of all their diamonds.

Centaurus has been established to fully commercialize its proprietary, cost-efficient and high-volume diamond production method to provide industrial quality diamonds. The Company–s patented technology enables the production of “cultured” diamonds that are chemically, atomically and structurally identical to natural diamonds. The Gemological Institute of America has tested the Company–s “cultured” diamonds and has confirmed they are diamonds according to their testing protocols.
