Düsseldorf – Event security is the theme of NRW Congress 2010, which will take place on January 15, 2011 at the Düsseldorf Congress Center. The International Congress for Event Security will be even more important in the wake of the massive panic that resulted in the deaths of 20 people during the Love Parade on July 24 in Duisburg. The focus will be on the basic factors that make a large event successful and safe. The Congress will also deal with the labyrinth of information and regulations that make it difficult for a conscientious organizer to make the right plans. Representatives of security and rescue organizations will make presentations at the accompanying trade fair. http://www.nrw-kongress.de/
The NRW Congress is an event for provision of more information about the complex organization of a big event. It is also an information and contact platform for different participants in a successful event. Every missing detail can lead to disastrous gaps in security and fatal follow-on consequences. It is only today understood how important social services, coverage of visitors with the right insurance and examination of security concepts are.
The Congress will be accompanied by a fair at which the most-important building blocks of a large event will be presented. Government officials, politicians and representatives of assistance and rescue organizations, TÜV Rheinland and insurance companies will be present. Representatives of research and crisis institutions, independent firms and social services will speak and answer visitors” questions. New ideas and suggestions will be discussed, collected, evaluated and forwarded to appropriate parties. Long breaks between sessions will enable participants to make new contacts and engage in comprehensive exchanges of information and experience.
The initiator of the NRW Congress is the North Rhine Westphalia Development Agency for Innovative Regional and Industrial Marketing (N.E.G.I.R.I. M.). It will donate 20 per cent of surplus funding for victims of the Duisburg Love Parade to the Love Foundation. Several hundred victims of the catastrophe and their rescuers will enjoy free entrance, and exhibit fees for assistance and rescue organizations will be waived. The Congress will also be accompanied by various charitable initiatives. The high point will be the charity gala planned for 8:30 P.M. on January 15, 2011. Shortly before it, Jörg Kibbat, the founder and initiator of the NRW Congress¸ will hold an official press conference at 7 P.M. to present the Congress” charitable proceeds to the Love Foundation. Following that, exclusive invitation cards for the press for the charity gala will be distributed.
