BacTech Hires Tetra Tech for Snow Lake, Manitoba Project

TORONTO, CANADA — (Marketwire) — 01/17/13 — BacTech Environmental Corporation (“BacTech” or the “Company”) (CNSX: BAC)(OTC: BCCEF)(WKN: A1H4TY) today announced a further advancement on the Company–s Snow Lake, Manitoba arsenic reclamation project.

BacTech has engaged the services of Tetra Tech to provide Front End Engineering Design (“FEED”) for the bioleach plant that is scheduled to commence construction in Q2 of 2013. Tetra Tech has extensive engineering and design knowledge with regards to the bioleach process and will be responsible for the process overview, equipment review and specifications, and other associated process details.

Work will commence immediately and is scheduled to be completed before the end of March 2013. The results of the FEED package will be the basis for the detailed design engineering phase of the Snow Lake plant that will include civil, mechanical, electrical, and process automation.

“This is a major step forward in our commitment to the remediation of the Arsenopyrite Residue Stockpile and subsequent gold production in Snow Lake. We are very pleased that Tetra Tech will be working in conjunction with our in-house technical team on this phase of the project,” said David Salari, P.Eng., COO of BacTech.

On a sad note, the Company reports that Dr. Junxiang Guo, BacTech–s Vice President of Metallurgy, passed away on January 12th after a short illness. “Dr. Guo was a team player and a positive influence in the office. We will miss his contribution to the organization, as well as his friendship,” commented Ross Orr, President and CEO of BacTech.
