EDMONTON, ALBERTA — (Marketwired) — 11/06/14 — Capital Power (TSX: CPX) was awarded with the Canadian Electricity Association (CEA) President–s Award of Excellence for Employee Safety (bronze level) for its Canadian operations as well as the CEA Vice-President–s Award of Safety Excellence for Generation (bronze level). The awards were presented at the CEA–s annual Occupational Health and Safety Awards in Ottawa on November 5.
For the second time Capital Power is being recognized with the CEA–s President–s Award of Excellence for Employee Safety. The previous award in 2010 was also at the bronze level, which recognizes companies that meet the award criteria for the given year.

In addition to the corporate award, four Capital Power employees were presented with CEA Lifesaving Awards for their actions in helping save the life of a member of the general public. CEA Lifesaving Awards were presented to:
