Citizenre Enters Supply Partnership With Grape Solar

SAN DIEGO, CA — (Marketwire) — 10/17/11 — The Citizenre Corporation today announced it has initiated the drawdown of its first 500 kilowatts (kW)s of photovoltaics (PV) this month from Oregon-based PV equipment provider Grape Solar. Citizenre, a solar electric systems provider, plans to install these systems in upcoming months in Oregon across more than 100 residential lease projects.

The two solar companies share a goal of building the future of clean energy. A commitment to a no-nonsense approach to rapid and pervasive deployment of residential PV is central to both parties who feel the time is right for the market to move more steadfastly in this direction.

“Grape Solar CEO Ocean Yuan has exceptional market knowledge and foresight,” said Citizenre CEO David Gregg. “Better than most, he has an understanding of what it will take to get there.”

Gregg looks forward to continuing the purchasing relationship with Grape Solar and to increasing installation activity in several other states where Citizenre already has presence. He credits Grape Solar–s market delivery innovations which are paving the way for premium quality, low-cost modules as well as improvements in scalability and flexibility of energy systems.

“Citizenre–s scalable design and installation capabilities are a rare find in the residential solar market. Our partnership expands our reach in multiple states and helps us make solar energy more accessible and affordable,” said Grape Solar CEO Ocean Yuan.

On the addition of 500 kW in Oregon in the months to come, Gregg also acknowledged Energy Trust of Oregon and the Oregon Department of Energy. He said the combination of cash incentives from the nonprofit organization and Residential Energy Tax Credits from the state of Oregon is worthy of emulation by other states. “The Energy Trust incentives and state tax credits make it possible for us to provide solar to Oregon homeowners, and the way the incentive programs are structured allows for a more professional, expedited process,” said Gregg. “We are excited to be making a significant addition to the solar energy capacity in the state of Oregon now and in the years to come.”

In an environment where traditional solar companies are suffering and even going out of business, Grape Solar is thriving. By partnering with market segment leaders, Grape Solar is able to integrate consumer lead generation via national retail chain stores, manufacturing, logistics, installation and project financing in a way that has made Grape the low-cost leader.

Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Eugene, Oregon, Grape Solar provides total solar solutions to solar installers, developers and consumers alike, nationwide.

Founded in 2005, Citizenre brought its vision of “PV for all” to a national audience in 2006 by introducing an industry-breakthrough solar electricity rental product.

PV is Citizenre–s entry product. Products that follow will strengthen customers– ability to save money, manage their energy use, replace polluting with non-polluting fuels, and place their own needs at the core of their energy purchase decisions and now-energy production options.

In 2009, Citizenre began its pilot efforts in Southern California expanding throughout the state in 2010. By 2011, Citizenre introduced its PV product to several other states in the west with further expansion to come.
