FALLS CHURCH, VA — (Marketwire) — 09/01/11 — Curtiss-Wright Flow Control Company has announced that its Scientech business unit received Exelon–s Corporate & IT area award for Operational Excellence at the Exelon Supplier Summit in Chicago on Aug. 2.
Presented by Daniel Hill, Exelon senior vice president and chief information officer, the award recognizes Scientech–s replacement of plant process computers (“PPCs”) at six of Exelon–s nuclear power stations in Illinois. Scientech has ongoing contracts with Exelon to replace the PPCs at Byron and Braidwood Generating Stations.
“PPCs are extremely complex systems that are installed and commissioned as part of scheduled refueling outages,” Hill said. “Scientech formed a strong team with Exelon–s Nuclear Real Time IT group and has delivered turnkey PPC solutions on schedule and within budget. Scientech also has embraced Exelon–s culture of continuous improvement in several ways, including a lessons learned process.”
“Exelon has been a long-term strategic customer of Scientech and we are very pleased and proud to receive this award,” said Roger Kuhl, Division Manager of Scientech–s Plant Performance group. “It represents a body of work that confirms our commitment to high quality services and predictable results for all of our utility customers. The contribution and dedication of Exelon–s Nuclear Real Time IT group during these PPC replacements has been extraordinary throughout the process.”
