Curtiss-Wright Flow Control & Rosemount Nuclear Instruments Sign Agreement for Instrumentation Products

FALLS CHURCH, VA — (Marketwire) — 12/06/12 — Curtiss-Wright Flow Control Company–s Scientech business unit announced that it has entered into a Technology Assignment Agreement with Rosemount Nuclear Instruments, Inc. (RNII) to establish a continued source of supply and support for the Model 710 Trip/Calibration System line of instrumentation products. Under the agreement, Scientech will take over all design, manufacturing and field support for the 710 product line effective January 1, 2013.

The 710 product line is widely used in domestic Boiling Water Reactors (BWR) in safety-related applications. Following RNII–s announcement of its decision to discontinue the line, the nuclear power industry expressed a need for continued support. This agreement fills that need by providing repair, refurbishment services and newly manufactured products. The 710 product line will become part of Scientech–s product portfolio.

“This agreement to provide ongoing support for the 710 product line is a strong strategic fit with Scientech–s existing Instrumentation and Controls business, which specializes in supplying obsolescence solutions equipment and electrical instrumentation to the current installed base of operating nuclear reactors,” said David Linton, President, Curtiss-Wright Flow Control Company. “The addition of this product line will provide improved support to our BWR clients, while also expanding our ability to help solve obsolescence problems.”

Curtiss-Wright Flow Control (CWFC) specializes in the design and manufacture of highly engineered valves, pumps, motors, generators, electronics and related products for the commercial nuclear power industry, oil and gas processing facilities, a range of critical national defense programs and the industrial controls market.
