Day & Zimmermann Wins Its First Contract With Public Service New Mexico

PHILADELPHIA, PA — (Marketwired) — 10/21/13 — Day & Zimmermann (D&Z), the century-old, family-owned provider of construction and engineering, staffing and defense solutions for leading corporations and governments around the world, has been awarded a four-year contract with Public Service New Mexico (PNM) to provide maintenance and modification services at its San Juan Generating Station located 15 miles west of Farmington, NM.

“We selected Day & Zimmerman for its strong safety record and experience in improving work processes,” said Tom Fallgren, director of plant management at San Juan. “Safety is a core value for PNM, and D&Z is aligned with that value.”

This is D&Z–s first contract with PNM. Mobilization begins in November with support from D&Z–s Phoenix office.

San Juan Generating Station is a key source of power for PNM and more than 2 million customers in the Southwest and West. San Juan–s low cost and excellent reliability make it an important part of PNM–s energy portfolio, even as PNM adds more renewable energy to that portfolio. The plant is a four-unit, coal-fired station generating 1800 gross megawatts.
