OAK HAMMOCK MARSH, MANITOBA — (Marketwire) — 10/31/12 — Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) is pleased to announce that Jamie Fortune has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Fortune is well respected throughout the Canadian conservation community. He has been with DUC since 1999 as director regional operations – eastern region, moving into the role of director of corporate affairs in 2011 and served as Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) over the past year. Fortune is based in the DUC Ottawa office, providing a strong presence in the nation–s capital in support of government and industry relations initiatives and DUC–s extensive network of conservation partnerships.

In his role as COO, Fortune is a member of the DUC executive team and shares the CEO–s day-to-day operational duties. He works closely with the DUC Board in all program areas, directing DUC–s extensive revenue generation initiatives and integrating field operations.
DUC is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2013. Fortune is taking an active role in the planning for this milestone and will be focused on sharing DUC–s story of wetland conservation excellence with supporters, stakeholders and all Canadians.
