Ecology and Environment, Inc. Names Rebecca L. Flora Sustainable Communities Practice Leader

LANCASTER, NY — (Marketwire) — 01/16/12 — Ecology and Environment, Inc. (E & E) (NASDAQ: EEI) is pleased to announce that Rebecca L. Flora, a pioneer in the green building and sustainable communities movements, has joined E & E as Sustainable Communities Practice Leader. Throughout her 30-year career, Flora has exhibited leadership and expertise across multiple areas of sustainability, including community development, urban redevelopment, Main Street revitalization, historic preservation, affordable housing, climate action planning, green building, and green job creation. She will bring a fresh perspective to E & E–s sustainability practice and will expand the firm–s ability to assist clients in meeting their sustainability goals.

Flora has earned a reputation nationally and globally through her work at Green Building Alliance (GBA) and in her role on the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) board of directors where she served as board chair in 2008 and later as USGBC–s Senior Vice President of Education and Research. Flora was a founding member of the core committee that established the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) for Neighborhood Development rating system, a role directly related to her long standing interests and expertise in sustainable communities. She has also worked to educate others in the field of sustainability through ten years as an adjunct professor at Carnegie Mellon University–s Heinz College and currently as a member of the USGBC® Faculty.
