LEAGUE CITY, TX — (Marketwire) — 01/09/13 — ERF Wireless Inc. (OTCBB: ERFB), a leading provider of enterprise-class wireless broadband products and services, announced today that Tim Maxson will succeed Tom Wiedebush as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Effective immediately, Mr. Maxson will take over all of the company–s day-to-day, high-level operational management responsibilities. Mr. Maxson brings extensive senior management experience to ERF Wireless, having recently served as the President and General Manager of a $56 million division of a major heavy equipment manufacturing company, where he developed a twelve-month operational business strategy that resulted in the company going from a negative cash flow to a profit for the first time in five years.
Mr. Wiedebush, whose initial contract expired at the end of 2012, elected not to seek an extension for personal reasons. However, he will remain as a Board member and agreed to assist ERF Wireless in finding the best COO candidate as his successor, as well as other key management positions currently being filled.
Dr. H. Dean Cubley, CEO of ERF Wireless, commented, “ERF Wireless continues to experience a very significant amount of growth in our oil and gas business and, as a result, the company had previously addressed the need for more senior-level management to handle operational decisions with the addition of Tom Wiedebush as COO. Tom has contributed greatly to the progress of ERF Wireless over the past six months and was instrumental in bringing in an industry consultant who made recommendations for improvements that would assist the company in preparing for continued growth in 2013 and beyond. One of those recommendations included the additional expansion of our senior-level management team. Tim Maxson certainly matches that objective. I am looking forward to turning over operational management to our new COO and continuing to focus my attention on the broader scope of corporate tasks that will contribute to the continued growth of ERF Wireless with the objective of improved shareholder value.”
Tim Maxson commented, “ERF Wireless possesses all the right ingredients to fundamentally succeed. The technology and infrastructure at ERF Wireless provides us with an excellent starting point that we will leverage in the coming months to attempt to increase shareholder value as well as reach the next level of operational excellence.”
