WASHINGTON, DC — (Marketwire) — 02/01/12 — Infocast will hold their upcoming 15th Annual Transmission Summit East on February 29-March 2, 2012 at the Almas Temple Club in Washington, D.C. This event will explore the challenges and the latest issues driving the transmission industry, including the release of Order No. 1000, as well as how numerous rulemakings will affect the operation, makeup and financing of the transmission system. The summit will also address the industry–s prospects for 2012 and beyond, including new opportunities as they move beyond the drawing board.
Delivering renewable and other new energy sources to customers is dependent on building regional transmission lines, but traditional methods of planning and allocating costs have not provided enough impetus to fuel the build out. This prompted FERC Order No. 1000, which, for the first time, will explicitly include public policy in the regional planning process. However, this order–s effective implementation in markets across the country is very much still open to debate.
The Transmission Summit East 2012 is the premier gathering place for the transmission industry. This year–s roster of high-level speakers includes representatives from and among many others. Keynote addresses by FERC commissioners Cheryl A. LaFleur and John R. Norris will kick off the event.
