INDIANAPOLIS, IN — (Marketwire) — 10/04/11 — The Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership (INHP) partnered with the Heating and Air Conditioning Alliance (HACA), including heating and air conditioning company Airtron Indy, on Saturday, October 1, 2011, for a “Bring the Heat” system inspection, cleaning, and event aimed at 60 low- and moderate-income families.
On Saturday, from 8 – 11:30 a.m. HACA heating professionals checked, cleaned and serviced heating units free of charge for 60 families identified by INHP.
“We wanted to provide a maintenance tune-up for the families– heating systems before cold weather sets in,” says Sherri Puckett, Executive Director of HACA. “Our focus is on helping families who have low income levels, and there is a natural fit for us to work with INHP in this program.”
This is the fifth year INHP and HACA have worked together to assist families with a heating system program.
“–Bring the Heat– is an excellent opportunity for INHP to align its mission of increasing — safe, decent, affordable housing opportunities — with a program specifically focusing on the issue of safety and the well-being of Indianapolis homeowners,” says Joe Huntzinger, INHP Vice President of Mortgage Lending. “We want to make sure families do not have carbon monoxide issues and that dirt and debris are cleaned out of their units.”
Mayor Greg Ballard joined the HACA professionals to kick off the event from 7:30-8 a.m. at Indiana Supply, 3835 E. 2nd Street. From there they departed to their assigned homes to do the work.
