Landis Lifestyle Salons Seek to Hire 26 New Stylists

SALT LAKE CITY, UT — (Marketwire) — 02/27/12 — (OTCQB: GRNE) (PINKSHEETS: GRNE), a majority-owned subsidiary of Nexia Holdings, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: NXHD), is seeking to hire at least 26 additional stylists over the next 12 months.

Richard Surber, CEO of GRNE, stated, “We currently have the capacity for more than 26 additional stylists at our existing salons. On average a single stylist can generate more than $80,000 in additional revenue at a Landis Lifestyle Salon. If we hire a licensed stylist directly out of beauty school, it generally takes us about 11 months to graduate them to a grand salon commissioned stylist. A grand salon stylist charges higher prices and is trained to meet our high standards of proper guest services. One component of properly servicing our guests is making sure each guest has the right product to recreate the same hair style at home; this usually equates to a guest purchasing about $15 worth of Aveda product per visit. Our current average sale per guest is around $66.”

Surber continued, “Hiring to capacity at our current lifestyle salons will be the springboard to additional salon openings. The success of our newest location was in part based upon being able to seamlessly transfer stylists with a book of clients from our flagship Liberty Heights location to the new Marmalade location. The same model will be used as we grow into additional locations. Once we have the staff and capital in place it takes about 6 months to build out and properly launch a new salon. I expect the time needed to open additional salons will decrease as we amass more resources.”

Logan Fast, Vice President and head of the Landis New Artist (training) program, pointed out, “Three of our most recent graduates are a testament to the success of our New Artist program. Great education translates to excellent guest services that in turn translate into financial success. These graduates are selling on average $17 worth of product per guest. In addition, they are averaging 70% productivity — that means they have clients in their chair 70% of the time over the course of a full work week. A typical service is about an hour. A typical work week is about 35 hours; multiply that by at least $52 an hour over the course of say 50 weeks. Our salons have total of 34 chairs. We are open 7 days a week. Each chair has the capacity for multiple stylists based upon our hours of operation. Now, do the math. It is compelling.”

Surber concluded, “The potential for increasing revenues at our existing salons is practically a forgone conclusion in my mind. The prospect for future Aveda licensed salons, under the umbrella of GRNE, is very good indeed, based upon our proven operating model. Now, we just need the manpower and capital to fulfill my vision.”
