EDMONTON, ALBERTA — (Marketwire) — 01/17/12 — McCoy Corporation (“McCoy” or “the Corporation”) (TSX: MCB) is pleased to announce the appointment of James (Jim) Nowotny as the new Senior Vice President, Drilling & Completions. Mr. Nowotny will replace David Buck as Mr. Buck retires.
Mr. Buck was an integral part of McCoy–s executive team serving most recently as the Senior Vice President of McCoy–s Drilling & Completions division. Prior to that, Mr. Buck was a Vice President with the Corporation. Mr. Buck founded Superior Manufacturing & Hydraulics over 30 years ago in Lafayette, Louisiana, which was purchased by McCoy in 2007.
“David was instrumental in the growth of McCoy–s global presence in the energy services sector,” said Jim Rakievich, President & CEO. “David was a mentor to all of us and we wish him well in his much deserved retirement.”
Replacing Mr. Buck in the role of Senior Vice President, Drilling & Completions is James (Jim) Nowotny. Mr. Nowotny comes to McCoy from Atwood Oceanics, a company engaged in the business of international offshore drilling. Over his 16 years at Atwood, Mr. Nowotny worked in increasing roles of responsibility in the areas of engineering, operations, marketing and business development. Mr. Nowotny has leadership and business development experience working most recently as the Director of Marketing & Business Development at Atwood. Mr. Nowotny has a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University and has attended executive education courses at Columbia Business School and Harvard Law School.
Mr. Nowotny has significant international experience, including leading offshore drilling operations and projects in Australia, Italy, Singapore and Turkey. Because of his engineering and operations experience, Mr. Nowotny understands firsthand how to effectively deliver quality products and services to the customer.

Mr. Nowotny will commence his role with McCoy in February and will be based out of McCoy–s Houston, Texas office.
