Minister of State (Finance), Ted Menzies to Deliver Keynote Address at 2013 Oil Sands and Heavy Oil Technologies Conference

TULSA, OKLAHOMA — (Marketwired) — 07/04/13 — Oil Sands and Heavy Oil Technologies Conference (OSHOT) director, Bob Tippee, is pleased to announce that the Honourable Ted Menzies, Minster of State (Finance) will deliver a keynote speech at this year–s conference. The conference will be held from July 23-25, 2013 at the TELUS Convention Center in Calgary, AB.

As Minister of State (Finance), Mr. Menzies plays an important role in establishing government economic policies and strategies. Mr. Menzies also has many years experience representing Canada in negotiating international trade agreements.

“Minister Menzies will provide insight into Canada–s strategy for developing the oil sands industry and the impact environmental considerations have on that strategy,” says Bob Tippee. “He will also speak to some of the hot button issues facing the industry including the Keystone and Northern Gateway Pipelines and greenhouse gas production.”

Minister Menzies joins Rick George, former CEO of Suncor Energy and Duke du Plessis, Senior Advisor with Alberta Innovates: Energy Environment Solutions as keynote speakers.
