New Installation of Everest Sciences Corporation–s ECOChill ProSpec(TM) System Helps Increase Production for a Leading Fertilizer Producer in the Caribbean

TULSA, OK — (Marketwire) — 04/24/12 — Everest Sciences Corporation, the leading provider of Indirect Evaporative Cooling Solutions, is pleased to announce the commissioning of an ECOChill Pro Spec hybrid inlet cooling system at a customer–s large ammonia plant in the Caribbean. This announcement follows the recent installation of an Everest Sciences ECOCool system at a natural gas pipeline compression station in the US Rocky Mountain region. Together, these installations demonstrate the Everest Sciences inlet cooling solutions– ability to help customers improve financial returns across a wide range of industries.

For the Caribbean installation, a single integrated ECOChill Pro Spec unit cools both the inlet air to the customer–s Dresser Rand Air Compressor, as well as its GE Frame 3 Gas Turbine driver. This innovative solution increases the Air Compressor–s air mass flow, which results in greater plant production capacity, while simultaneously facilitating the necessary increase in the driving gas turbine–s power output by also chilling its inlet air. Together, this results in very attractive economic gains for the customer, allowing it to increase the plant–s Ammonia output, while at the same time increasing overall system efficiency. No changes were required to the air compressor, its gear ratio, or to the gas turbine. The ECOChill Pro Spec unit is fully integrated with the plant–s digital control system.

“To date the ECOChill performance is great. The pressure drop on the unit is very low. The colder air from the unit has allowed us to operate at steady rates and maintain steady production,” according to a Senior Process Engineer at a Caribbean Fertilizer Company.

“We are delighted with this implementation of our inlet cooling solutions with a top fertilizer manufacturer,” said Marcus Bastianen, Director of Sales and Marketing for Everest Sciences. “In this particular application, the ECOChill Pro Spec solution removed a limitation in the plant–s air production, resulting in increased ammonia production. By providing improved mass flow to both the air compressor and its gas turbine driver, the plant can balance its production to optimum levels depending on the ambient conditions. The increase in customer–s plant production and efficiency is significant, especially given the site–s prevailing warm climate.”

Everest Sciences Corporation manufactures highly-engineered, fully-integrated inlet air system solutions to help customers increase output and improve efficiency. Its solutions currently serve multiple industry segments in the oil and gas, fertilizer manufacturing, food processing, pulp and paper, co-gen, chemical processing, and pipeline compression segments. Previous Everest Sciences installations, including those in gas processing and natural gas liquids facilities in the greater Houston area, continue to perform above expectations resulting in measurable improvements in efficiency and revenue for its customers.

“We are pleased our technology is being embraced by leading companies across a wide range of industries, and both within, and outside of the United States,” said Bastianen.

Everest Sciences is working with a large number of companies in the Oil and Gas, Chemical Plant, Power Generation, and other industries, and will be installing additional systems in North America and other global markets throughout 2012.

Everest Sciences is a fast growing provider of inlet cooling solutions for customers in the small to medium industrial gas turbine and the air compressor marketplace. Everest Sciences takes advantage of a legacy of expertise in indirect evaporative cooling and heat extraction to design and manufacture hybrid systems that increase mass flow, resulting greater net power at lower heat rates for gas turbines, and increased in air production for air compressors. Everest Sciences patented hybrid design provides more efficient cooling than traditional refrigeration, direct evaporation, or fogging-based inlet cooling methods. Everest Sciences– proprietary, integrated and packaged systems combine inlet cooling and inlet filtration. For more information please visit , email , or call 1-800-913-6810.
