TORONTO, ONTARIO — (Marketwire) — 05/24/12 — Solar Network International is excited to announce that nominations are now open for the first annual SolarVision Awards. “This award will celebrate the visionaries who have made possible the gains in solar energy in Ontario,” said Jacob Travis, President of Solar Network International. Nominees will be recognized at a gala on June 25 at Solar Network–s SSX ONTARIO: Solar Summit & eXpo 2012 being held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
Nominations are being sought from a wide range of initiatives and projects, including those at municipal, institutional, K – 12 and post-secondary locations; urban and rural sites; and in aboriginal communities. Submissions that recognize leadership in public education and public relations from the not-for-profit, corporate and political sphere are also encouraged. Nominees can be Ontario individuals, institutions, businesses, organizations, municipalities or partnerships.

All eligible nominees will be recognized and an Awards Committee will determine those deserving special acknowledgment. The members of the Awards Committee are known for their commitment to a renewable energy future with demonstrated actions in support of that commitment:
