Northland Power Named 2014 Business of the Year by the Netherlands-Canadian Chamber of Commerce

TORONTO, ONTARIO — (Marketwired) — 11/13/14 — Northland Power Inc. (“Northland”) (TSX: NPI)(TSX: NPI.PR.A)(TSX: NPI.PR.C)(TSX: NPI.DB.A)(TSX: NPI.DB.B), an international producer of wind, solar, and thermal power in business for over 25 years, was named Business of the Year by the Netherlands-Canadian Chamber of Commerce at its annual luncheon in the Hague on November 12, 2014.

The award recognizes companies who have advanced the relationship between Canada and the Netherlands. Northland was selected from a shortlist of three companies based on its role as majority equity shareholder in Gemini, a 600MW offshore wind project located approximately 85 kilometres off the coast of the Netherlands in the North Sea.

The Netherlands-Canadian Chamber of Commerce, which was established before the Second World War, is a proactive, non-government, non-profit, voluntary organization of companies and individuals who contribute to the Canada-Netherlands relationship through their activities in business, cultural, educational and other spheres. The Chamber–s primary mission is to promote stronger economic ties between the Netherlands and Canada while seeking to raise public awareness of the special relationship between the two countries.
