AUSTIN, TX — (Marketwired) — 09/18/13 — Omni Water Solutions, Inc., a provider of highly efficient and automated mobile systems for water treatment and re-use, is treating flowback and produced water in the Eagle Ford shale of South Texas to reduce boron and enable re-use of the cleaned water for drilling and hydraulic fracturing.
Since June 2013, Omni–s HIPPO® mobile water treatment unit has been used in a Marathon Oil water recycling pilot project to convert produced water into fresh water, clean brine and hydro-carbon streams. The objective in this pilot was to reduce boron levels from 90 parts per million to less than 5 parts per million in the fresh water stream. Omni–s HIPPO® has successfully met Marathon Oil–s request and has treated over 140,000 barrels to date, with results verified by analysis from three different independent labs.
Omni Water Solutions offers the 2,500-barrel per day and 10,000-barrel per day HIPPO® system for treating brackish, flowback and produced water. These mobile units come equipped with the company–s patented OctoZone® technology, a real-time sense and respond automation system that enables oil and gas operators to treat and re-use water at a lower cost with more consistent results. After treatment through the platform, the water can be re-used in subsequent drilling and completions instead of lost to disposal.
“Omni is proud to be part of this project to find ways to re-use Texas water,” said Warren Sumner, CEO of Omni Water Solutions. “Our goal is to enable our customers to efficiently and economically drill and complete their wells while minimizing the amount of water consumed in the process. By treating and re-using produced water onsite, we have also reduced truck trips needed to transport waste water, which takes trucks off the road and out of the lease location.”
Omni Water Solutions will be exhibiting at the DUG Eagle Ford Conference September 17-19, 2013 in San Antonio, Texas and can be found at booth #2113.
Omni Water Solutions is a provider of highly efficient and automated mobile systems for water treatment and re-use. Through its patented OctoZone® technology, the Omni HIPPO® is able to sense and respond to constantly changing fluid conditions in the field. The result is consistent-quality output at a cost that makes re-use affordable. Omni provides operators with better drilling and completion fluids for better performance.
