VAUGHAN, ONTARIO — (Marketwire) — 07/27/12 — Large commercial and institutional customers can now more easily engage the services of a qualified energy specialist to help identify and implement energy savings projects through PowerStream–s energy managers funded by the (OPA).
PowerStream has responded to customer requests for help with energy management and now, with the assistance of the OPA, is offering specialized expertise to those customers who meet certain criteria. The electric utility has hired Roving Energy Managers that are being made available to eligible customers for a defined period of time to assist them in assessing their energy use, developing energy-management plans and helping implement energy efficiency projects.
PowerStream implemented this initiative recognizing how energy efficiency can be a big boost to a company–s operations and bottom line, but that for many commercial and institutional customers identifying ways to save isn–t always simple. The ability of companies to get this expertise in place, even for only a specified period of time, can be the critical resource to keep an organization moving forward in this area.
PowerStream, working with six of its customers, obtained funding from the OPA for these energy managers. The Roving Energy Managers have kilowatt and kilowatt-hour reduction targets which will in turn help PowerStream meet energy reduction goals within the utility–s service territory.
PowerStream is also assisting large customers such as the , and in finding and implementing energy savings projects by providing funding for Embedded Energy Managers, dedicated solely to one customer, each having a minimum energy reduction target of 300 kW.
Large commercial and institutional customers interested in participating in this program, or requiring additional information, can contact Nathalie McLauchlin, CDM Program Manager, Industrial Markets at 1-877-963-6900, extension 25098.
