Premier Alliance Selected by James Hardie Building Products, Inc. for $1.6 Million Production Plant Upgrade and Cogen Feasibility Study

CHARLOTTE, NC — (Marketwire) — 02/27/13 — Premier Alliance Group, Inc., (OTCQB: PIMO) a strategic advisory, services, and solutions firm providing 360 degrees Intelligence Delivery through Knowledge Based Expertise (“KBE”), today announced that its Energy and Sustainability Division has been selected by James Hardie Building Products (NYSE: JHX), a global fiber cement producer for the construction industry, to upgrade and refurbish the production lines of its Fontana, California facility while analyzing a variety of cost saving and alternative energy options. The six-month project, worth $1.6 million in revenue to Premier Alliance, will enable the facility to resume production after a four-year hiatus.

The multi-faceted project entails upgrading the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system in conjunction with integrating infrastructure and energy savings opportunities throughout the facility. In addition to identifying savings and incentives offered by Southern California Edison (SCE) for the production line upgrades, Premier Alliance will evaluate the feasibility of implementing a variety of energy management and cost saving initiatives including:

Demand Response measures available through SCE that offer incentives for curtailing power consumption during specific time periods throughout the year

Onsite solar PV power production including financial analysis, system design, construction, and maintenance

Cogeneration, specifically combined heat and power (CHP), the use of a heat engine or power station to simultaneously generate both electricity and useful heat.

“I am very proud of our engineering team,” said Rob Davis, Senior Vice President of Energy Services for Premier Alliance. “We were up against some industry heavyweights during the RFP process but our exceptional staff, comprehensive approach to facility management and over 20 years of automation and controls experience proved to be a significant competitive edge.
