The e-miglia is a clean and silent rally that is regarded as a test of the the performance and competitiveness of electric vehicles. In the course of this rally that will take place from August 1 to August 5, 32 teams will cover this challenging route that leads through the alpine countries Germany – Austria – Italy -Switzerland. When the e-miglia took place first in 2010, Schletter made sure that the vehicles could be charged smoothly using Schletter P-CHARGE charging pillars. Schletter, a company that is mainly known for solar mounting systems, will again provide the required charging infrastructure and will even participate with an own racing team.
Schletter will provide 8 stand-alone charging pillars that will be positioned at the start and at the intermediate stops of each stage. Up to 4 vehicles can be charged simultaneously at one charging pillar. As the vehicles often arrive at the intermediate stops at short intervals and the alllowed charging time is limited, chargings have to be carried out swiftly. Due to the high simultaneity factor, a considerable charging power has to be provided.
A new aspect of this years´ rally is that the power consumption of the individual vehicles will be part of the overall standings. As our charging pillars can be configured individually for any requirement, we create ideal conditions for a rally with our digital active current meters, says Manfred Resch, P-CHARGE project leader with Schletter.
The P-CHARGE charging pillars by Schletter are a complete series of individually configurable charging stations for electric vehicles. The charging stations are suitable both for the public and the private sector. Design modification according to customer wishes are also possible. Starting from simple charging stations for electric bikes, electric scooters and electric cars up to billing systems for parking lots and electric vehicle fleets, all imaginable solutions are feasible.
P-CHARGE is available in different designs: As a universally applicable “Stand-alone” version, as an individually configurable “Private” version as well as a compact “Wall-box” version for wall mounting. Especially in combination with the Schletter solar carports from the Park@Sol series, the “Carport” version is an ideal solution for a sustainable overall energy concept.
