(TSX VENTURE: STT) (“Semcan” or the “Company”) announced that Mr. Randy Fowlie informed the Company–s board of directors today that he will not be standing for re-election at the upcoming AGM. Mr. Fowlie has served on the board since January 2010, and as the Company–s Chairman since March 21, 2011. Mr. Fowlie informed the Board that upon further reflection, he would no longer be able to commit the necessary time to Semcan Inc.
Mr. David Deacon, CEO, on behalf of the Company–s board, commented “Mr. Fowlie has been a strong independent board member since January 2010, and we were very fortunate to have him step up over the last year to take on the role of Chairman. He has made a significant contribution in time and effort as well as providing balanced advice as we restructured the Company–s balance sheet and returned to operating profitability. We were aware that Randy had taken on the role of Chairman during a period of increased personal work load. We thank Randy for the time he has spent in helping Semcan through its transition, and wish him well in all his future endeavours.”
Semcan–s annual general meeting will be held on June 28, 2012 in Toronto. Following the meeting, the Company–s directors will seek a replacement for the seat vacated by Mr. Fowlie.
