SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company appointed in April 2009 Axel Andreä as the new Head of the SGS Wind Energy Department. Andreä will take over responsibility for the Global Wind Energy Competence Center (http://www.wind.sgs.com/wind_news) and the German Technical Office for Wind Energy in Hamburg.
Axel Andreä is a graduate of the Polytechnical University of Hamburg and his extensive experience in the wind energy business spans nearly 20 years. He gained experience in the testing of wind turbines, in wind turbine load simulation and the design of tubular steel towers, in load calculations and tower design. He is familiar with the development and certification of wind turbines, as well as with the control systems for wind turbines. He has also extensive knowledge in standardization on national and international levels as well as certification of ocean energy systems, project management and research.
Axel Andreä, as Head of the Wind Energy Department is responsible for the Global SGS Competence Centre, Wind Energy and for the German Technical Office for Wind Energy to strengthen and enhance SGS services to the wind industry in technical surveillance and consultancy.
