SGS has appointed Alexander Heitmann as Global Wind Energy Expert to take over responsibility for project management of offshore wind farm certification projects, as well as other wind energy projects for SGS’s international clients.
Alexander Heitmann is a graduate of the University of Energy Technologies in Zittau, Germany. Before joining SGS he worked for TÜV NORD in the certification body for wind turbines from 2005 to 2008. He was responsible for the working area of load assumptions and has also represented the company in national and international standard working groups on this theme. Furthermore, he was Acting Head of the certification body for a period of time during his tenure.
Speaking about his appointment, Alexander said: “This is a very exciting challenge for me to work for SGS Renewable Energy and I am looking forward to getting underway with some of SGS’s most recently awarded projects.”
