SGS Germany employs Malte Lossin from January 2009 as an Offshore Wind Energy Manager to take over the responsibility for Project Management of Offshore Wind Farm Certification for European projects, focusing on Germany.
Malte Lossin is a graduate of the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg, Germany. Before joining SGS, he worked for Germanischer Lloyd Industrial Services Competence Centre Wind Energy (GL Wind) from January 2002 to December 2008. He was responsible for the certification of foundations, towers and nacelle covers. Mr Lossin was also involved in type approvals according to German building law. He was also in charge of corrosion protection at GL Wind and has represented the company in national and international research projects involving technical and scientific consulting. Through his activity in this field he was involved in many offshore wind energy and ocean energy projects.
Mr Lossin’s new role at SGS Germany is to establish all required services for the wind energy sector with special focus on offshore wind energy in terms of quality assurance and reliability.
Reliability of offshore structures and wind turbines is essential for the successful performance of wind farms. Mr Lossin accepts this challenge at the Technical Office Wind Energy SGS Germany with pleasure and is looking forward to developing this area. This new SGS Germany business segment will be supported by the extensive experience of the SGS Competence Centre Wind Energy. SGS Germany will thereby enhance its range of inspection and certification services and the opportunities to work as an independent project surveyor, carrying out project monitoring and due diligence evaluation of wind farm projects in the European market.
