IRVINE, CA — (Marketwired) — 09/27/13 — Universal Bioenergy Inc., (OTCQB: UBRG), a publicly traded independent diversified energy company, announced today that its subsidiary NDR Energy Group signed an agreement to supply electric power to one of the largest electric power utilities on the west coast. The new Customer is a public utility that provides energy service to 3.4 million people. The Customer–s parent company is a Fortune 500 energy services company that provides electricity and natural gas services, and reported revenues of approximately $10 billion in 2012.
On February 12, 2013, the Company announced NDR Energy received final approval for its “Power Marketing License” from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). With this new contract, the Electric Power Division will now begin to market electric power. Universal Bioenergy forecasts the sales of electricity could generate an estimated $96 to $384 million in additional annual revenue for the Company.
NDR Energy Group–s Electric Power Division intends to market wholesale electric power to its electric utility customer base, and retail power to its expanding customer base which may include federal and state agencies, U.S. military, municipalities and large commercial and industrial companies.
NDR Energy Group–s President, Ken Harris says, “This is one of the most significant developments in NDR history. In February 2013, NDR received its FERC license. We immediately initiated relationships with large power/electricity producers. Today, we entered into our first Master Power Purchase and Sale Agreement with a major utility. Now, power/electricity sales will be a point of emphasis for NDR during the upcoming quarter and in the foreseeable future. We are experiencing substantial growth concerning our natural gas division. However, we now add to that strong vertical the opportunity for increased margins and huge sales volume in our power/electricity division. I applaud our marketing and operations team members Debra Lynch and Gina Roy for their diligent efforts in working on this transaction. These continue to be remarkable times for our Company. Additionally, I am pleased that we now have power/electricity sales as a huge complement to our traditionally strong natural gas operations.”
Universal–s President Vince M. Guest says, “We–re very excited about this new electric power contract, which we believe is just one of many more to follow. The electric power division provides us with just the right foundation we need to greatly increase our revenues and profit margins. The sales of electric power, coal and LNG are part of our new business model to rapidly expand the Company and bring more value to our shareholders. We believe this is a monumental step in our efforts to be one of the largest independent diversified energy companies in the U.S.”
